Best Hair Removal Techniques

If you're like every other gal out there, hair removal is just a regular part of your beauty routine.  A few years ago I discovered laser hair removal and swear by it.  Salons usually offer bikini & armpit deals that run around $70 per session.  You have to do 8-10 sessions for your hair to completely disappear.  Ironically enough, the darker the hair the faster it works (too bad for me).  Anyway, it's worth every single penny! Unfortunately, you can not laser your eyebrows because it's too close to your eyes so I have had to resort to waxing.  However, I have never been super happy.  For one, I would get ingrown hairs and two, I don't think the pulling is good for the skin around the eyes, especially now that I'm older =/ I had always heard of threading but just never looked into it....until today! It's cheaper than waxing ($12 vs $25) and it lasts for 2- 3 weeks.  It did not hurt as much as I expected but, then again, I've been waxing for years so I think I have built up a high pain tolerance.   For those of you who are not familiar with threading, it originated in Eastern Europe and is common among Persian, Arab and Indian cultures and has recently gained popularity in the Western countries (yes, I got that from Wikipedia).

The art of threading

Technique:

Practitioners use a pure, thin, twisted cotton thread which is rolled over usually untidy hairlines, eyebrows, and other areas of unwanted hair, plucking the hair at the follicle level. Unlike tweezing, where single hairs are pulled out one at a time, threading can remove an entire row of hair, resulting in a straighter line.

*Here's the link to where I went in the Beverly Center, they have stores all over the U.S. (http://browart23.com/location.html).  It's a super cheesy website but, trust me, they did an excellent job!
